Grey Area Labs is a research-driven publication exploring the frontiers of longevity science, artificial intelligence, and emerging technology. We publish deep, evidence-based analysis on the topics that sit between disciplines — where biology meets computation, where science meets the market, and where the frontier meets mainstream understanding.

We cover three core verticals: longevity and aging research (supplements, peptides, senolytics, clinical trials), AI and technology (agentic systems, LLMs, AI for drug discovery, frontier tech), and Solana NFT history (the most comprehensive editorial archive of early Solana collections online).

Every article is grounded in peer-reviewed research, on-chain data, or primary sources. We don’t simplify for clicks — we go deep and trust the reader to follow.

About Ryan Bethencourt

Ryan Bethencourt is a biotech investor, founder, and science writer with over a decade at the frontier of biology and technology.

He co-founded IndieBio, the world’s largest seed-stage biotech accelerator (part of SOSV), where he helped build and fund over 100 companies working on everything from cultured meat to computational drug discovery. He went on to co-found and lead Wild Earth as CEO, building one of the first biotech-driven pet nutrition companies — backed by Mark Cuban on Shark Tank.

As an investor, Ryan has backed 180+ early-stage biotech and food-tech startups, including early positions in Upside Foods, Geltor, and The Not Company. His portfolio companies have gone on to raise billions in follow-on capital.

He studied molecular genetics at the University of Warwick and bioscience enterprise at Cambridge and MIT, before beginning doctoral work in regenerative medicine at the University of Edinburgh. He chose to build companies instead.
